I would not recommend staying here. The rooms are run down and poorly appointed. We were skeptical of the room's cleanliness and even wore our sandals in the shower. They have wifi, but we could never connect. Also a warning, you cannot check in or even drop bags before 3pm. In our case it was 3:30pm, we waited with other couples, for them to open up in order to check in. We were able to confirm with another couple that if you book through booking.com, this place automatically puts you in a room with two twin beds.
This hotel is a disgrace. We had a cockroach in the food and the cooking for dinner was terrible. Rissotto that was like glue. Melted butter poured on my shoes. Over cooked (not seared) and tasteless tuna tartare! Wine list is possibly the worst in France. Utter disgrace. Worst meal I have had in a decades. Breakfast is an extremely modest and thoughtless affair with the very bare basics. This place used to be ok. Rooms are run down and have had nothing material done to them for a very long time. Rooms are boiling and staff refused to put A/C on. The old wing should have been demolished years ago. Staff are a disgrace and don't care one bit about the guests and are rude and abrasive. I felt totally put down and ignored by the extremely intolerant staff. This a hotel where even attempting to provide a good expereience is not even aspirational. I would never stay in the hotel again. Ever.
An idyllic spot on the banks of the Rhone, the hotel offers a great location for exploring the northern Rhone valley and its vineyards. This was our second time at the hotel, and part of the reason for the return visit was the restaurant, which offers a great tasting menu with matching wines. This was served, as the weather was so benign, on the terrace by the river. Staff were friendly and helpful and the general service and cleanliness were excellent
This hotel / restaurant is run down and out of date!
From the greeting to the departure I was very disappointed! Would strongly recommend staying away from the risotto, and the restaurant in general!
20 years ago, my fiance and I drove from Paris to Marseille.
We got lost outside Lyon, late at night and came across Condrieu ... we turned left somewhere and discovered an Oasis in the desert ... the Beau Rivage.
They housed us in a room with a terrace overlooking the river and we never forgot it.
Fast forward 20 years and I had to revisit it.
Huge mistake.
This is not a hotel. It is a restaurant in the middle of nowhere looking for an hotel; with a couple of nice, lift accessible, rooms above it.
Their restaurant is not prioritized for the residents, is always full (they brag about it) and most get stuck in the "outhouse" across the car park. No lift. No help.
Room with a view? The window wouldn't open beyond 3 inches!!
They couldn't offer any food. Instead they shuffled me off to Cafe Gourmet down the street, who insult guests by saying "not another Beau Rivage refugee".
Despite a dozen empty tables, they were "complet".
On my own I found a lovely little Doner Kebab Diner. For 9E I got 2 beers and doner.
Beforehand the Beau Rivage manager suggested McDonalds!!!
Tried to sleep, despite noisy neighbors in paper thin walls.
Breakfast cost 15E. I had a croissant. And a glass of O/J. The latter I was charged ... 6E!!! So a 15E croissant. And a half dozen wasps
The place is so aged.
Do yourself a favor ... for the 30 minute drive to find the place (if you can) from the A6, keep driving!!!
They are so rude, overpriced and snobbish they do not deserve the business. And think they're the best thing south of Paris.
Their web site is incredibly deceptive. You cannot tell what kind of room you'll get; nor where said room is ...
The only saving grace this place has is - it allows dogs.
A nice hotel restaurant at the border of the Rhone river. Quiet atmosphere and on an warm day profit also from the garden and terrace. The chef uses excellent regional products to make yummy dishes which are also a pleasure for your eyes. Good wine list and the friendly and competent personell can also advise you in your choise of the local wines like the Condrieu or the Cóte Rôtie.
After a nice lunch take a walk along the river and profit of the quiet surroundings take some bread with you to feed the ducks and swans.
Great food and service!
Ok hotel, nice service, by no means this isn’t a 4 star hotel, IMPORTANT: STAY AWAY FROM THE RESTAURANT!
